The Face Behind The Brand

Kunti Patel

BrowsbyKunti was founded in my freshman year in 2017 at Temple University to offer affordable and accessible beauty services to students in my community. I learned how to thread when I was 13, during the couple years I lived in India. When I got to college I was a Biochemistry major with no time for a part-time job. I started out small, I honestly don’t even remember how I convinced the first person to trust me with their eyebrows but one or two a week became 5 to 6 pretty soon and I realized I was actually pretty good at this and I really enjoyed the process of meeting people and giving them a boost of confidence.

At the time I was charging $5 and walking to apartments in between class - it was insane. Eventually, I added more services, charged a bit more, and welcomed clients to my apartment. During COVID, I created my philanthropy initiative, RECOVERY, and created my skincare brand - LEELO Skin & Hair; In January 2022, I graduated Temple University as Student Commencement Speaker and moved back home-South Jersey, for a year.

Now, I am working full-time and am back at Temple for my M.S. in Digital Marketing. This has become my passion over the years and I can’t wait till I do this full-time. I am so thankful to meet such amazing people through my work - it humbles and motivates me. I hope to meet you soon!
